Ministerial departments and Government-side offices of Hampshire County Government.

• First Minister’s Office

  Supports the First Minister and Cabinet and coordinates the work of Hampshire County Government.

• Attorney General’s Office

  Supports the Hampshire Law Officers, provides legal advice to Hampshire County Government and carries out the public-interest legal functions of the Law Officers.

• Cabinet Office

  Supports Cabinet and the HCG Civil Service and leads collective government, propriety, resilience and coordination across Hampshire County Government.

• Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade

  Responsible for business, trade, investment, science, research, innovation and technology-led growth in Hampshire County.

• Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport

  Responsible for digital policy, telecommunications, online safety, government digital services, culture, media, sport, heritage, tourism, youth and civil society in Hampshire County.

• Department for Education

  Responsible for schools, children’s services, further and higher education and education standards in Hampshire County.

• Department for Energy Security and Net Zero

  Responsible for energy security, energy policy, decarbonisation and net zero in Hampshire County.

• Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs

  Responsible for environmental protection, food, farming, fisheries and rural affairs in Hampshire County.

• Department for Transport

  Responsible for roads, rail, public transport, maritime policy and wider transport policy in Hampshire County.

• Department for Work and Pensions

  Responsible for social security, pensions, employment support and skills in Hampshire County.

• Department of Health and Social Care

  Responsible for health and social care policy in Hampshire County and for stewardship of its health services.

• Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office

  Responsible for Hampshire County’s external affairs under the England settlement.

• HCG HM Treasury

  Responsible for Hampshire County public finance, economic policy, taxation and public spending. It is separate from Lord Lieutenant’s Treasury.

• Home Office

  Responsible for policing, crime, public order, internal security and border matters for Hampshire County.

• Ministry of Defence

  Responsible for defence policy and defence administration for Hampshire County.

• Ministry of Housing and Communities

  Responsible for housing, planning, building safety, homelessness, communities and fire and rescue policy in Hampshire County.

• Ministry of Justice

  Responsible for justice policy and justice administration in Hampshire County. The courts and judiciary remain independent.

• UK Export Finance

  Supports eligible Hampshire exporters through export finance and insurance.

• Office of the Leader of the Hampshire Chamber

  Supports the Government’s business in the Hampshire Chamber. The Chamber’s administration is separate from the Government.
